The National Trust’s 3 mile Box Hill Riverside Walk, is a delightful circular walk along the River Mole. This will take you past a holiday park so if you see that you know you’re on the right path. Although it is only a moderate eight miles in length, various sections of the route involve walking up and down hills and some of the slopes are steep. There are around a dozen way-marked routes of various lengths and difficulty to suit all ages and abilities. A couple of our faves are the Beachy Head walk in Eastbourne and the Epping Forest Oak Trail walk on the edge of the city. Box Hill walks There are lots of different walks to try at Box Hill, from a gentle stroll over the top of this famous hill, to a long walk down and up again, taking in the river and a pub along the way. It is indeed situated on a hill, and this circular walk takes you right from the valley floor to the top of this very steep hill. Once you cross the road, you’ll come to the steepest section on the Box Hill walk. Quick View. I just can’t get over some of these views! Located in Dorking, the White Horse Hotel is conveniently close to the hustle and bustle of the town while being on the doorstep of the Surrey Hills.
